BA, MA (Dist.), Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology, Certificated Psychodramatist
Kia ora, I’m a clinical psychologist with 20 years experience providing therapy, supervision and training. I have a particular interest and expertise in the following areas:
• Effective therapies for depression and anxiety
• Processing grief and life changes
• Building self esteem and self compassion
• Reassessment and strategies for problems that have not responded to previous therapy
• Interview skills training
• Professional supervision
• Personal development
I believe a good working relationship is at the heart of good therapy and my style is supportive and collaborative. I’ll work with you to identify and achieve your goals. I primarily use a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework to guide my work; however I also use other psychotherapy methods which allow me to creatively adapt my approach to suit your situation.
My background has provided me with a broad range of psychotherapy experience. I was an educator/practitioner for the University of Canterbury Clinical Psychology Training Programme for 10 years; I was a research therapist for several years, providing CBT, Schema Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy for clients on clinical trials; and I am a Certificated Psychodramatist with more than 10 years of training and experience in Action Methods.
I am registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board, Clinical Scope of Practice; I am a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP) and a member of the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Psychodrama Association (AANZPA). I regularly attend my own professional supervision and relevant training.
